NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION DESIGNATION ORDER NO. NA-2022-DES-NAl-NAIM-01 1. DESIGNATION. Under the authority vested in me pursuant to section 3212 of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Act (50 U.S.C. 2402) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order (0) 471.7, Controlled Unclassified Information, I designate the Associate Administrator for Information Management and Chief Information Officer as the official to take the following actions: 1.1 To serve as the Departmental Element Designated Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Official for NNSA. 1.2 In this capacity, be responsible for the development and implementation of the NNSA CUI program in accordance with the requirements of DOE O 471.7, Controlled Unclassified Information, including the authority to oversee compliance within authorized management authority as prescribed by law, Executive Order, or departmental policy and directives. 2. RESCISSION. None. 3. LIMITATION. 3.1 In exercising the authority designated in this Order, the designee shall be governed by the rules and regulations of DOE, NNSA, and the policies and procedures prescribed by the Secretary and Under Secretary for Nuclear Security/NNSA Administrator. 3.2 Nothing in this Order precludes the Secretary or the Under Secretary for Nuclear Security/NNSA Administrator from exercising any of the authority delegated by this Order. 3.3 Nothing in this Order shall be construed to supersede or otherwise interfere with the authorities provided to the NNSA Administrator by law or designation. 3 .4 Any amendments to this Order shall be made in consultation with the NNSA General Counsel. · 4. AUTHORITY TO REDESIGNATE. 4.1 I authorize you to redesignate CUI responsibilities to a senior Federal Employee under your management, as necessary. Further designation of CUI responsibilities is prohibited. Redesignation must conform to the requirements in NNSA Policy (NAP)-110 .1, Delegations and Designations. 4.2 A copy of this designation shall be provided to the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning through the NNSA Directives Team, which manages the Designation of Authority system for NNSA. 5. DURATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. 5. I All actions by the designee pursuant to any authority provided in this Order or pursuant to any authority granted by the Order taken prior to and in effect on the date of this Order are ratified and remain in force as if taken under this Order, unless or until rescinded, amended, or superseded. 5.2 This Order is effective July 8, 2022.
