BERRIOS — Berrios oneN ene SUPERVISORY MANGEMENT ANALYST OFFICE OF POLICY AND STRATEGIC PLANNING SUBJECT: Cancellation of National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Business Operating Procedure (BOP) 203.1, Issuance and Usage of Portable Computing and Communications Devices (PCCD) ISSUE: Cancellation of BOP 203.1. BACKGROUND: BOP 203.1, was signed and issued by former Principal Deputy Administrator William Ostendorff in September 2007. The BOP contains business and operating guidance for the issuance and usage of NNSA or employee-owned portable computing and communications devices (PCCD) containing NNSA data. DISCUSSION: In accordance with NNSA SD 251.1B, Directives Management, all directives (including BOPs) must be reviewed and recertified for relevancy every 3 years by the Office of Primary Interest from the date of issuance. BOP 203.1 was reviewed by Goodman Bellamy (NA-IM-20) and approved by James Wolff (NA-IM-1) for cancellation on November 10, 2022, after determining the BOP is outdated and no longer needed since the issuance of DOE Order 203.2, Mobile Technology Management, in January 2014, which requires Departmental Elements (DEs) to establish mobile device management procedures and does not require DEs to develop additional policy. BOP 203.1 was circulated throughout the Nuclear Security Enterprise for review and concurrence, NNSA elements concurred with the cancellation of this BOP via the RevCom process. 12/8/2022 APPROVE: ISAPPROVE: NEEDS DISCUSSION: DATE:
